Ludwell Apartments, Constructed Circa 1935
Text
The Ludwell Apartments, also known simply as "Ludwell" by the students and located at 100-700 Rolfe Road, are apartments leased by William & Mary and are considered on-campus housing. Ludwell is currently home to many upperclassman.
The Ludwell Apartments were built in the 1930s and were leased to William & Mary as early as the late 1950s and 1960s. In 1965, Ludwell housed mostly first year and out-of-state women students in six apartments of 25 students each. In the 1980s, William & Mary saw its first married students take up residence in Ludwell. Many current students who live in Ludwell commute to campus by taking the Green Line bus.
